Although this seemed to be just a routine flight, soon, several people stepped out, holding American flags, and were greeted by the US Deputy Secretary of State and Homeland Security. As it turned out, these people were expected to come for a long time, as they were white Afrikaner refugees fleeing persecution and discrimination in their homeland in South Africa. And, this arrival sent the media up in a frenzy, with left wing news commentators demanding that they go home. Even the ANC, the ruling party in South Africa, demanded that they come home, and face justice for “Historical Grievances.”

But, wasn’t South Africa a shining angel of Democracy and Diversity after the fall of Apartheid, and Nelson Mandela becoming president? What is really going on in South Africa that is so horrible that the Afrikaner’s have to uproot their families, and leave the place they had farmed and lived on for generations?

In the 1600’s, the Dutch began colonizing South Africa with the Cape Colony, and settled the place with Dutch farmers, and their families, and became to be known as the Boers. The Dutch government would continue to populate Cape Colony with the Dutch Boers, and the colony continued to expand. To this day, most Afrikaners can trace their roots to before the United States was a county. However, when the British colonized Cape Colony in the 1800’s, the Boers were sick of being ruled by someone from thousands of miles away, and began trekking into the interior of South Africa, in an event known as the Great Trek. When they arrived, they said they wanted to foster good relations with the African tribes, but the Africans soon attacked. When the Boers counterattacked, in the Battle of Blood River, which the Boers won against the odds. After that, they said they were no longer Dutch Boers, but Afrikaners, as South Africa was their home now. This explains why the Afrikaners are so patriotic, because this was their home, and they fought for this land. This was shown again in the Boer Wars with the British.

In 1910, the Union of South Africa was given independence as a Commonwealth State. But, in 1948, an Afrikaner nationalist party, known as the National Party, took power in South Africa. The National Party believed in White Supremacy, and began imposing the policy of Apartheid, or Separation, giving the Africans lower quality material than the whites had, and treated them worse than the Afrikanners. Any time the African population tried to rise up, the protests would be brutally suppressed. However, the Africans were not going to just accept this.

In 1912, the ANC, or African National Congress, was founded to advocate for African rights. It slowly gained popularity, but, during the Apartheid Era, its popularity skyrocketed. It became well known worldwide for its nonviolent protests and demonstrations against the Apartheid Regime. When Nelson Mandela, the party’s charismatic leader, and several other members of the ANC were imprisoned on the dreaded Robben Island, this further bolstered their cause.

However, despite how it appeared, the ANC also had a dark side. The ANC also committed guerilla warfare against the South African regime, causing civilian casualties, and they also committed violent sabotage attacks. This was done with the support of Communist dictatorial regimes, such as the Soviet Union, Communist Mozambique, and Mugabe’s Zimbabwe. The ANC’s actions would end up making it, in the eyes of the US and British Governments, a terrorist organization.

In the late 1980’s, F. W. de Klerk, the president of South Africa, began negotiating with the ANC to end the Apartheid system. Finally, in 1991, he ended Apartheid, and freed the political prisoners, including Nelson Mandela. In 1994, the first free elections in South Africa, which was an ANC landslide.

When the ANC took power in South Africa, they began implementing their agenda on South Africa. First, they began doing socialist economic measures so the Africans can get richer, rather than just the Afrikaners having all the money. However, this was doomed to failure, as now, South Africa has the highest unemployment rate in the world, at 55%, wealth inequality has skyrocketed, and the power grid is collapsing. Meanwhile, HIV and AIDS rates have increased. What once was a first world nation that had the ability to build nuclear weapons turned into a third world failing state in only 30 years.

This is because of how the ANC is implementing DEI. When they took power in 1994, they made a constitution that prioritized diversity and equity. However, while this seems nice on the surface, you might want to look closer at what that would mean. This would mean that the Afrikaners, due to being white, were the “oppressors”, while the Africans were “oppressed”. This would mean that, now, the Afrikaners have to face justice for historical grievances. You can start to see how wrong this is, as most of the Afrikaners didn’t support Apartheid, or were the evil racists the ANC is painting them to be. However, the ANC is still doing this, which is causing the nation to become a failing state, as this is what happens when DEI is taken too seriously.

Sadly, Afrikaner civilians who had nothing to do with Apartheid, mostly farmers, are receiving most of the wrath of the ANC. Since the end of Apartheid, around 3,000 white farmers had been killed violently by black mobs, sometimes in the most ruthless ways possible. For example, a few months ago, an Afrikaner grandmother died of shock after watching her granddaughters get r*ped in front of her. Also in 2012, the Marikana massacre happened, where 34 Afrikanner miners went on strike, and got massacred by South African authorities, killing 34. ANC rule in South Africa was suspiciously looking like Apartheid in reverse. While the ANC tried to prevent information from slipping, the world was starting to notice what was really happening in South Africa.

This has happened before, in the country to the north of South Africa, in Zimbabwe. Rodeshia was originally a British Colony, and had over 300,000 English people living there. However, after they declared independence, and the subsequent Rhodesian Bush War against Communist African Militias, the country got taken over by the radical ZANU party, and its brutal leader, Robert Mugabe. As President of Zimbabwe, Mugabe began doing radical policies to punish the white population as much as physically possible, killing white farmers, and other acts. In the 1990’s, the ZANU began a policy of removing white farmers from their land and replacing them with black ones. However, the African farmers were inexperienced, causing hyperinflation of unprecedented levels, and making the “Breadbasket of Africa” having to import food. Finally, after the 2017 coup that removed Mugabe(Serves him right), Zimbabwe finally began giving the white farmer’s land back. However, the damage was done. Out of 300,000 whites in 1980, only 20,000 remanded. Despite this, South Africa has not appeared to have learned the lessons that Zimbabwe had had to go through.

In 2025, the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa decided to pull a Zimbabwe, and announced that the South African government could seize Afrikaner farmer’s property, and redistribute it to inexperienced African farmers, and not have to compensate the Afrikanners. The Afrikaners have lived, farmed, and maintained their land for centuries, but the ANC was taking their land away with the stroke of a pen. The policy was literally sometimes called “Zimbabwe without violence”. With this, the ANC had gone too far, and the US government said that any Afrikaners fleeing persecution could come to the United States. With this proposition, 49 Afrikaners accepted, and fled South Africa, despite living there for centuries.

When the refugees arrived, they were met with polarising public reaction. On one hand, lots of people welcomed them, and helped settle them. However, others, especially on the left, criticized their arrival, for a variety of reasons, such as the fact that, despite the white farmer massacres, “There was no genocide”, or the fact that they weren’t native to begin with, as they were desended from the Dutch. However, despite being related to the Dutch, the Afrikaners have been in South Africa for so long that they are different peoples. Also, the Afrikaners were facing a real plight at home, as, in the words of one of the refugees, “I didn’t come here for fun”.

Meanwhile, the ANC has been livid, as, a few days after their arrival, they made a statement, warning vengeance, and calling the refugees cowards for escaping justice for “Historical Grievances”. They finished by stating that South Africa is not a failed state, which proves that they know they are because nobody announces that unless it is the exact opposite.

However, as already stated, this already happened in Zimbabwe, where the whites were treated horribly. This caused the nation, once the breadbasket of Africa, having to import food, and becoming one of the poorest nations in the world. This could happen also with South Africa, if the ANC regime continues their policy of seeking vengeance on Afrikaners, instead of moving past that and working together to build a better South Africa.

Welkom Vlugtelinge!

A few days ago, a plane from South Africa arrived at Dulles International Airport in the outskirts of DC.
